Instructions
Freshmen
1. Return the completed, signed application for admission.
2. Enclose the $25 non-refundable application fee.
3. Send an official high school transcript or official GED (you can send transcripts as early as the end of your junior year), and official transcripts from colleges/universities attended (if any).
4. Have either SAT or ACT scores sent to OLLU. The OLLU number for SAT is 6550; the ACT number is 4140. Adults who have not attended school in more than five years, GED recipients and Weekend and Evening Degree Program applicants are required to take OLLU assessments.
Transfer
1. Return the completed, signed application for admission.
2. Enclose the $25 non-refundable application fee.
3. For students with 0-29 transferable semester hours, send:
a. Official high school transcript with date of graduation and official transcripts from colleges/universities attended;
b. SAT or ACT scores. Adults who have not attended school in more than five years, GED recipients and Weekend and Evening Degree Program applicants are required to take OLLU assessments.
4. For students with 30+ transferable semester hours, send official transcripts from colleges/universities attended.
Joint Admission Transfer
OLLU participates in joint admissions agreements with Alamo Community College District, El Paso Community College District and Laredo Community College. Contact the counseling office at one of the above community colleges or OLLU’s coordinator of transfer enrollment for eligibility requirements.
1. Return the completed, signed application for admission.
2. Send a joint admissions agreement contract to be completed at the respective school (a copy will be sent to OLLU).
3. Send an official transcript at the time of entry in the program, one semester prior to attending OLLU, and after completion of the final semester/term.
Transient (credit to be transferred to home institution)
1. Return the completed, signed application for admission.
2. Enclose the $25 non-refundable application fee.
3. Send an official transcript from your home institution.
Auditor (not for credit)
1. Return the completed, signed application for admission.
2. Enclose the $25 non-refundable application fee.
Non-Degree Seeking (for credit but not for a degree)
1. Return the completed, signed application for admission.
2. Enclose the $25 non-refundable application fee.
3. For students who have never attended a college/university, send an official high school transcript or GED.
4. For students who have attended another college/university but never attended OLLU, send official transcripts from each college/university attended.
Post-baccalaureate (have bachelor’s degree; taking undergraduate courses but not earning a degree)
1. Return the completed, signed application for admission.
2. Enclose the $25 non-refundable application fee.
3. Send an official transcript from the institution where baccalaureate degree was earned (not required if degree was earned at OLLU). Note: If seeking teacher certification, official transcripts must be submitted from ALL colleges/universities attended.
Readmit (previously attended OLLU)
1. Return the completed, signed application for admission.
2. Send official transcripts from each college/university attended since last attending OLLU.
3. If grade point average at OLLU was below 1.75 for freshmen (0-29 semester hours) or 2.00 for all others (30+ semester hours), a personal statement must be submitted, which includes:
a. Explanation of previous academic performance;
b. Plans for improving academic performance and corrective actions;
c. Any other documentation which will support request for readmission.
Note: Students on Enforced Scholastic Withdrawal must remain out of school for two terms (not including summer) before seeking readmission. Readmission is not available after three periods of Enforced Scholastic Withdrawal.
International
1. Return the completed, signed application for admission.
2. Enclose a $50 international application fee.
3. Send an official high school transcript and official transcripts from colleges/universities attended (if any). Foreign transcripts may require an official evaluation by a United States foreign transcript evaluation service. Documents in languages other than English must have certified translations.
4. Include satisfactory scores on one of the following examinations:
a. Comprehensive English Language Test
b. Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency
c. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or equivalent examination (if the applicant’s native language is not English)
5. Include International Student Advisor’s Report with official seal, if transferring from a United States college or university (request form from the Kliesen International and Cultural Center).
